Don’t Give Up Your Inheritance!

Hey hey family! Happy Tuesday to all of you! Let’s jump right in. Today I was reminded by Holy Spirit of our authority and power in the Kingdom. It’s our inheritance. It’s our portion. I can’t express how significant it is to know who you are and who you belong to. Knowing whose team you are fighting for. When you belong to Christ, there are things that are rightfully yours on this side of life. Things that have been purposed and ordained for you and your family. Things that have been promised and we all know our God is a promise keeper.

You see, the enemy cannot steal your promises. But…….he can make you self sabatoge what belongs to you. When the devil knows what’s in store for you, his goal is to keep you from receiving it or even believing you can have it. He will do any and everything possible to distract you or slow you down. You see, the thing is, he is not that powerful. But if you think he is then he already has an upper hand in this battle. As long as the enemy can make us ignorant to our promises, power and authority, he will continue to use it against us.

Once you begin to understand what God has promised you and the power that lies within, Hell gets nervous. Demons begin to tremble. You knowing, understanding and authorizing your position for the Kingdom of God makes you a threat to Hell. It’s one of your greatest weapons and warfare strategies. Yes, you will have to fight for what belongs to you. Yes, you will have to war to keep what’s yours because the enemy is always at work. But, if you stay in God’s presence, He will provide you with the proper tools and resources to multiply and maintain your portion.

Since the enemy cannot keep you from it, he will use strategies to make you destroy what you’ve been praying for. He may even try to get you to uproot what’s been planted before it’s actually time to reap your harvest. This may come in the form of using you to manipulate God’s timing and methods. Or even getting you to bring a previous season’s pain into your Promised Land. This is why allowing God the necessary time to heal our wounds is crucial for enjoying our harvest. If you are not fully healed from previous traumas, you will carry those open wounds into new seasons. This will look like allowing the same things to get you out of character. Losing your peace in familiar situations. Going back to old ways and habits. Handling things from a broken mindset and perspective. Allowing your tongue to speak death over situations. I could go on and on.

If you rush the healing process, you will become your own enemy and then begin to blame God for your promises not looking the way He showed them to you. If this happens, the enemy’s work is done. You are destructing your own inheritance and possibly blaming God. Don’t rush the time you need to be healed and set free from the prisons that once enslaved you. I know we like things to happen quickly but some things just take time. If it took time for you to become broken or damaged, it’s going to take time to fix things. It will be worth the wait. God will not allow you to have something before you are ready, and if He does, there’s a lesson to be learned in that too.

Sometimes God will hold our promises back. Not because it isn’t ready, but maybe we aren’t in the right mind space or heart posture to receive it. If your mind isn’t in the right place and you heart is not healed, you will begin to do all the things that caused the damage in the first place. What’s yours is yours and no one can take what God has for you, but you my friend, can do more damage then you think. God will teach you how to close doors and lay things on the altar but it is you that the enemy will use to open the doors you once closed or pick up the very things God told you to put down. This is how cycles begin. You’re right there but it seems like you keep repeating the same tests and making the same mistakes. It’s like you’re suffering from the same things in life.

Ask God what cycles need to be broken. He may be allowing them to show you what needs to be corrected before you can receive what He has for you. God does not want us to mess up our blessings. He is only glorified when we get what He promised us and we steward it well. The children of Israel wandered around the same mountain for 40 years because they were not ready to enter the land that was promised to them. Their grumbling and complaining shows us that they weren’t learning the lessons or passing the tests that would give them access to the land.

Moral of this story, don’t be like the children of Israel LOL! Just kidding. But seriously, continue to allow the work that needs to be done prior to receiving what’s yours. Endure the wait and the tests. Endure the suffering that comes along with it. Endure the lessons and experiences that you need to learn. You’ll be better in the long run. You’ll be stronger in the end. You’ll be in a position, like myself, to teach someone what to do and more importantly what not to do. Don’t take your process for granted and never allow the enemy to use you to set the match in your own camp.

I hope this gave you some insight as you move into all that God has for you. Until next time……see ya next Tuesday!
