Let God tear it down!

Hey family! I would like to think that after 9 posts, we can call each other family! Right? LOL Anywho……today we are going to be discussing the importance of letting God tear it down! YIKES!!

This is actually a two fold message. Let’s get to it. When building anything in life whether it be a career, relationship, business, finances etc, the goal is to make sure we are building it not only for the right reasons, but building it for God. Let me start by saying there will be times that God will ask you to build something for a season and then tear it down in another. This is not to say that what you built was wasted because God works all things together for your good. Sometimes what you are building is practice before the actual assignment. He may be allowing you to get the experience from what you have built and teaching you obedience along the way.

There are times I was instructed by God to build something in my business that He later had me tear down or set aside for a later season. You never want to get so caught up in what you are building that you lose sight of the one who told you to build it. Everything belongs to God. We are only trusted to be good and faithful stewards over what He has given us. This also keeps us from making our projects and goals an idol. God will not have it!!!! We serve a jealous God and you can believe that whatever you place before God can and will be torn down as well. We are to have no other gods before Him.

When God tells you to put a project on the back burner, He will bring it back when the time is right. I’ve learned to ask Holy Spirit what is it that I need to be focused on now. Where does my attention need to be? He will highlight what you should currently be working on and what to circle back around to at a later time. This is also important because whatever you are supposed to be focused on at the moment is where God will meet you with revelation and further instructions. If you’re caught up on the wrong things, you may find yourself thinking that God is being silent. He’s just waiting for you to complete the last thing He told you to do. Nobody wants a fruitless project.

God says obedience is better than sacrifice. If He can’t trust you with an instruction, you may find yourself hitting unnecessary road blocks because of your disobedience. Even delayed obedience is still disobedience. Maybe you don’t need a new word or a new instruction. Maybe you need to go back and finish what you started. Your work may begin to look like a bunch of unfinished projects but you can trust God to finish the work He started in you until completion. The Bible says that those who can be trusted with a few, He will make ruler of many. Show God that you can be a good and faithful steward over your assignments, big and small. It’s easy to desire the big and there is nothing wrong with that but we cannot despise small beginnings. God desires to give you your heart’s desires but can He trust you with the mundane tasks first? Even David was delivering cheese sandwiches to his brothers in the Bible before he was faced with one of the greatest battles and victories in his life.

Another form of tearing down is when it seems as if the enemy has the upper hand. I’ve seen and experienced this more than I’d like to admit but even so, we still have to realize that God still has a plan and will always get the victory. When you are enduring a season of seeing everything that seems to contradict the very thing God promised you taking off, understand it’s only an illusion. This is how we can easily become distracted in what we are supposed to be building or standing for. God can’t tear down the plans of the enemy if He doesn’t first allow them to be built. I know this is easier said than done but you must remember and remain focused on what God spoke to you. The enemy will always try to flaunt the distraction in your face. It may even seem to be more successful than what you are currently doing but your job is to keep your hands on the plow and do what you’ve been instructed to do.

The Bible says if we resist the enemy, he will flee. Don’t entertain his tricks. Don’t allow him to make you get so distracted by what he’s doing that you lose sight of what God is doing or going to do. I’ve fallen for his tricks from time to time only to realize it was just another trap. The enemy is not powerful as many make him out to be but he is clever and sneaky. Once you gain understanding as to what he’s actually doing, repent to God for allowing the distraction and get back into position. Once the devil knows what he’s doing is bothering you or causing you to shift and doubt, he will continue to come at you that way. He may have made you stumble once but don’t fall for it again. Whatever is being built that does not have Heaven’s backing is meaningless. It’s building a house on sand and not on solid rock. The enemy may have his time to build a counterfeit in your life but even if that’s the case, when the time is right, God will tear it all down!! Expect God to come through! The weapon may form but it won’t prosper.

The best part is that if you find yourself seeing a counterfeit situation happen in your season, God will only allow it to go so far. When you spend your efforts building God’s house you can trust Him to take care of your house. He has you covered and wants nothing more than for you to be confident in Him. God will not fail you. He loves you too much!

Whichever way you find yourself in this message, God does not take anything away, without the intentions of replacing it with something better. Until next Tuesday…..
